VENICE BIENNALE
Date: 2025
This project proposes a redesign of the U.S. Pavilion for the Venice Biennale centered on openness, choice, and human interaction. Rather than prescribing a single path, the pavilion is composed of overlapping spaces that encourage movement, conversation, and intermingling between visitors. Structural elements inspired by tree trunks create a porous framework that blends the pavilion into its surroundings, allowing the landscape and architecture to work together. With much of the pavilion existing as exterior space, the project becomes a gathering point within the Biennale, offering moments of pause, retreat, and connection. The design prioritizes freedom of experience, reflecting an ideal of America rooted in choice, shared space, and the ability for people to define their experience.
